Espoo Museum of Modern Art wanted to try out the possibilities of mobile platforms in their marketing.
With the museum app, the visitors could be offered information about the latest installations and events via an aesthetically pleasing user interface. Even more important was to keep EMMA constantly in the minds of visitors. This was achieved via clever use of push messages.
Moreover, the app also featured a little game called the Art Orienteering. Using location-based technologies, the users try to seek out as many of the public art pieces scattered around the city of Espoo as they can.
The app was first released for the iPhone. The Windows Phone and Android versions are currently in the works.
